Assistant Chief Engineer

Dusit Thani Dubai needs an Assistant Chief Engineer to support the Chief Engineer in running the hotel's engineering department. You will manage technical staff, daily maintenance work, and building systems. This is a manager-level role in the Engineering division.

Key Responsibilities

• Set department rules and a strategic plan for engineering with the local management team.
• Make sure all staff know and follow the hotel's fire, safety, hygiene, and health policies.
• Plan staff rosters and shifts, approve the monthly shift system and keep attendance records for payroll.
• Give daily work orders to the team, supervise progress and organise training for junior staff.
• Keep all equipment in good working condition and keep the technical team motivated.
• Oversee the water treatment operation, review test results and guide the Plant Supervisor on chemical testing and corrective action.
• Share supervision of outside contractors with the Chief Engineer.
• Prepare departmental budgets with the Chief Engineer and control costs.
• Walk through back-of-house and public areas daily, check every outlet, and raise maintenance requests.
• Keep daily records for control purposes and work well with other departments to support guest satisfaction.
