Assistant Merchandiser

Al Futtaim Private Company LLC is hiring an Assistant Merchandiser in Dubai for its M&S business unit. You will support the Senior Merchandiser and Merchandiser with stock allocation, sales reporting and range buying. The role also involves working closely with stores and guiding a small team.

Education / Qualification

• Degree in Business Management or a related field

Skills Required

• Strong analytical and numerical skills with good attention to detail
• Clear communication and teamwork with colleagues and store staff
• Ability to handle complex tasks and make decisions based on data
• High level of Excel and other key Microsoft applications
• Knowledge of SAP is an advantage
• Interest in retail and the M&S brand

Experience Required

• At least 3 years in fashion buying and merchandising, at Assistant Merchandiser or Allocator level
• Retail buying experience, preferably in MENA and/or Europe, with knowledge of UK and European brands

Key Responsibilities

• Set BTF and balance size ratios, and make allocations that improve stock availability and sell-through
• Train and guide allocators on processes and systems, and roll out the AI allocation tool from Invent Analytics
• Prepare and maintain regular sales reports, track promotions and review weekly trade reports to suggest actions
• Flag best and worst sellers, study customer buying habits, and clean up data for seasonal sales analysis
• Support catalogue buying: maintain the Core Buying sheet, enter quantities in the IBT/Digital Range Building system, build planograms and create IBO ranges
• Compare plans against last year's results, the buying budget and the promotional calendar
• Act as the first contact for stores on stock issues and help with weekly trade communication and retail conference planning
• Keep online product data and descriptions clear and customer-friendly
• Set SMART objectives, coach the team, support succession planning with HRBP, and run quality PDR reviews
