MEPS Overhaul Manager

This role manages the service providers who handle mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and LTE overhaul and maintenance work at Dubai Metro premises. You will support the MEPS & Power Supply Manager and make sure the work is done to standard, on time, and within budget.

Job Overview

• Reports to: MEPS & Power Supply Manager
• Work setup: Office environment, with occasional travel

Education / Qualification

• Degree or higher diploma in mechanical, electrical or building services engineering, or equivalent experience
• Preferred: membership of a recognized engineering institution

Skills Required

• Fluent English
• Proficiency in maintenance management software for scheduling and reporting
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Good understanding of safety in railway operations
• Knowledge of maintenance planning, budgets, procedures, and technical specifications
• Preferred: familiarity with advanced maintenance technologies, or certification in safety and quality management

Experience Required

• Minimum 5 years of experience in design, testing, commissioning, or maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or LTE assets such as elevators, escalators, travelators, generators, tunnel ventilation, environmental control systems, and sliding doors
• At least 5 years of supervisory and management experience, including managing several sub-contractors and a technical support team
• Preferred: experience in rail or a similar industry, and experience in the UAE or Middle East

Key Responsibilities

• Manage sub-contractors and SLA providers so work is delivered on time, on budget and to standard
• Meet the agreed KPIs, including those for MEPS, elevators, travelators and escalators
• Help plan budgets and resources for building services maintenance and overhauls
• Coordinate with Control Centre controllers and the people in charge of track possessions, worksites and rail vehicle movements
• Check that maintenance records are accurate and audit maintenance practices to find improvements
• Advise teams on procedures, work instructions, system changes and new works
• Train and guide staff, and handle performance reviews, disciplinary and grievance matters
• Report safety-critical damage to facilities, cover for other managers during leave, and handle on-call, shift and emergency duties
